  7. INSTRUCTIONS

  9. Scribble is a drawing program for Windows.  Instead of attempting to
  10. compete with commercial applications like Corel Draw, Scribble can be
  11. used in place of a doodle pad.

  14. INSTALLATION
  15. Place the file SCRIBBLE.EXE on any floppy disk, hard disk, or network
  16. drive.  Access to the file can be accomplished through Windows, OS/2 or
  17. the Windows shell program of your choice.  SINCE SCRIBBLE WAS WRITTEN
  18. USING VISUAL BASIC, THE FILE VBRUN100.DLL MUST BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE 
  19. WINDOWS SYSTEM.  VBRUN100.DLL can be found on CompuServe, America OnLine,
  20. and most bbs systems.

  23. REGISTRATION AND LICENSE AGREEMENT

  25. The use of Scribble is subject to the following terms and conditions:
  26.  
  27. Scribble is copyrighted material, protected by the copyright laws of
  28. the United States. You may not make any changes or modifications,
  29. decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the software
  30. in any way.
  31.  
  32. Scribble can be used on a trial basis provided the user does not violate
  33. the protection afforded the licensed software by the copyright laws, 
  34. and the user agrees to the terms of the license agreement. If the user
  35. continues to use Scribble past a 30 day evaluation period the user is 
  36. obligated to purchase a license.
  37.  
  38. Scribble can be used on a Local Area Network provided that a license is 
  39. obtained for the number of users that may concurrently use the software.

  41. A license for the user of Scribble can be obtained by sending a self-
  42. addressed, stamped envelope to:

  48. Title to the licensed software is NOT transferred to the end user. The 
  49. end user is granted an exclusive license to use the software on one
  50. computer at any given time.

  53. DISTRIBUTION
  54.  
  55. Users are granted a limited license to copy Scribble only for the trial
  56. use by others subject to the terms of this software license agreement
  57. described herein, and the conditions described below are met:

  59. Scribble MUST be copied in an unmodified form and MUST contain the
  60. following files:
  61.  
  62.    SCRIBBLE.EXE
  63.    SCRIBBLE.TXT
  64.  
  65. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted or requested by
  66. anyone without the express written permission of 4A Software.
  67.  
  68. Public Domain Disk Vendors, Shareware Disk Vendors and Distributors of
  69. public domain and user supported software  may not charge a fee for
  70. Scribble itself. However, you may include Scribble on a diskette for
  71. which you charge a nominal distribution fee. The purchaser of said
  72. diskette must be informed in advance  that the fee paid to acquire the
  73. diskette does NOT relieve said purchaser from paying the registration
  74. fee for Scribble if said purchaser uses Scribble.

  76. Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may post Scribble for 
  77. downloading by their users without written permission only as long as
  78. the above conditions are met. A fee may be charged for access to the bbs
  79. as long as no specific fee is charged for downloading Scribble files.

  82. LIMITED WARRANTY
  83.  
  84. 4A Software does not warrant that the licensed software will meet
  85. any requirements or that the operation of the software will be
  86. uninterrupted or error free. The warranty does not cover any media or
  87. documentation which has been subject to damage or abuse by you or others.
  88. The software warranty does not cover any copy of the licensed software
  89. which has been altered or changed in any way.
  90.  
  91. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR
  92. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS
  93. WARRANTIES. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied
  94. warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  96. The warranties set forth above are in lieu of any and all other express
  97. or implied warranties, whether oral, written, or implied, and the remedies
  98. set forth above are the sole and exclusive remedies.

  100. 4A Software is not responsible for any problems or damages caused
  101. by the licensed software that may result from using the licensed
  102. software. This includes, but is not limited to, computer hardware,
  103. computer software, operating systems, and any computer or computing
  104. accessories. End user agrees to hold 4A Software harmless for any
  105. problems arising from the use of the software.

  107. 4A Software SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, 
  108. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING
  109. FROM ANY BREACH OF THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF 4A SOFTWARE OR ITS AGENTS
  110. OR DISTRIBUTORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
  111. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
  112. consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply
  113. to you.

  115. In no case shall 4A Software's liability exceed the license fees
  116. paid for the right to use the licensed software.
